The Railway Children
By
E. Nesbit

Adapted for the stage by Mike Kenny

By arrangement with Nick Hern Books.

Our Spring production this year is this much-loved story of a prosperous Edwardian family who have to move from London to Yorkshire after their father has been falsely accused of spying.
The lives of the family -Bobbie, Phyllis, Peter and their mother – are turned upside down but they cope with their adverse circumstances by forming a bond with their new home and community. They come to love the nearby railway and forge friendships with the Station Master and Porter, Mr Perks.
Each day, they appear on the platform to wave at a train they call ‘The Green Dragon’ as it passes, and a passenger they nickname The Old Gentleman waves back to them. He has an impact on their lives that they could not imagine.
We are fortunate to have a young and enthusiastic cast who will bring this to life!
