Ruth Smith

Dear All,

As several of you will remember, we lost Ruthie a couple of months ago, after a very short illness, which was a shock to many of us who knew her very well. Because she chose not to have a funeral, for some of us, including myself, it felt somehow unfinished, not to have been able to pay our respects to her.

With her daughter, Hanah's blessing, I wonder if those members who knew Ruth, were friends with Ruth, would like to meet up in a low-key way, to celebrate her friendship. I do not know who in the Group was a friend to her, apart from the obvious one or two, so cannot write to you privately. However, if you would like to meet up to chat, raise a glass to her as a long-time member of Pirton Players, who took part in many of our productions, please get back to me and we'll organise something in the coming weeks. Hannay and her family did similar a few weeks ago, so she was very happy for us to do something too.

Thank you.
